newrelic-mssql has passed automated validation. It may have or may still fail other checks like testing (verification).
NOTE: No required changes that the validator checks have been flagged! It is appreciated if you fix other items, but only Requirements will hold up a package version from approval. A human review could still turn up issues a computer may not easily find.

Guidelines

Guidelines are strong suggestions that improve the quality of a package version. These are considered something to fix for next time to increase the quality of the package. Over time Guidelines can become Requirements. A package version can be approved without addressing Guideline comments but will reduce the quality of the package.

newrelic-mssql has passed automated package testing (verification). The next step in the process is package scanning.

This is an FYI only. There is no action you need to take.

newrelic-mssql has been flagged as part of automated virus scanning.
Package virus scanning found that at least 1 file within, or downloaded by, the package has between 6 and 10 VirusTotal detections associated with it
This package version cannot be approved without an exemption from a Moderator.

flcdrg (reviewer) on 26 Nov 2021 03:22:54 +00:00:

Seeing quite a high hit on VirusTotal - https://www.virustotal.com/gui/file/91e9323f2cb95a4c5440b90487a704f4d96fe0cfbe76b4f50ec933a9ea298c9a?nocache=1

Any ideas why this might be?

davep (maintainer) on 29 Nov 2021 09:53:17 +00:00:

Interesting. No, I'm not sure why. The package is downloaded from the official New Relic downloads URL so my assumption is that it's a false positive, unless New Relic have been compromised in some way.

I will re-run the scanner just in case - if it still detects issues I think I'll self-reject the package and wait to see if New Relic address the problem.
Scanner Status Change - Virus Scanner has been set to rerun

chocolatey-ops (reviewer) on 30 Nov 2021 12:46:02 +00:00:

newrelic-mssql has been flagged as part of automated virus scanning.
Package virus scanning found that at least 1 file within, or downloaded by, the package has greater than 10 VirusTotal detections associated with it.
This package is now in a waiting state while you review the findings and provide an updated package, or send a message in the package review box on the package page.

davep (maintainer) on 01 Dec 2021 06:47:30 +00:00:

Moderator - can you please reject this package. I don't seem to have the ability.

There are still virus detection and I don't want to push this out in case New Relic have introduced a problem with the package.

Thanks.

flcdrg (reviewer) on 01 Dec 2021 09:06:57 +00:00:

Rejecting as requested
Status Change - Changed status of package from 'submitted' to 'rejected'.

Description

The New Relic Microsoft SQL Server integration collects and sends inventory and metrics from your MS SQL Server environment to our platform, where you can see the health of your MS SQL Server environment.

This is an integration for MSSQL which plugs into the New Relic Infrastructure Agent. As such, it depends on newrelic-infra. The Infrastucture agent will need to be properly configured with your license key to work.

Once installed, a YAML file is required to configure the integration. Please read the documentation here for details.

Please note that using this application requires an active subscription with New Relic.

For more information please visit the New Relic website or view the Microsoft SQL Server Monitoring Integration documentation.

In cases where actual malware is found, the packages are subject to removal. Software sometimes has false positives. Moderators do not necessarily validate the safety of the underlying software, only that a package retrieves software from the official distribution point and/or validate embedded software against official distribution point (where distribution rights allow redistribution).

Chocolatey Pro provides runtime protection from possible malware.
