NOTE: This applies to both open source and commercial editions of Chocolatey.

1. Ensure you are set for organizational deployment

Please see the organizational deployment guide

  • Open Source or Commercial:
    • Proxy Repository - Create a proxy nuget repository on Nexus, Artifactory Pro, or a proxy Chocolatey repository on ProGet. Point your upstream to https://community.chocolatey.org/api/v2. Packages cache on first access automatically. Make sure your choco clients are using your proxy repository as a source and NOT the default community repository. See source command for more information.
    • You can also just download the package and push it to a repository Download

3. Enter your internal repository url

(this should look similar to https://community.chocolatey.org/api/v2)

4. Choose your deployment method:

choco upgrade sketchup -y --source="'STEP 3 URL'" [other options]

See options you can pass to upgrade.

See best practices for scripting.

Add this to a PowerShell script or use a Batch script with tools and in places where you are calling directly to Chocolatey. If you are integrating, keep in mind enhanced exit codes.

If you do use a PowerShell script, use the following to ensure bad exit codes are shown as failures:

choco upgrade sketchup -y --source="'STEP 3 URL'"
$exitCode = $LASTEXITCODE

Write-Verbose "Exit code was $exitCode"
$validExitCodes = @(0, 1605, 1614, 1641, 3010)
if ($validExitCodes -contains $exitCode) {
  Exit 0
}

Exit $exitCode

Description

SketchUp is a 3D modeling computer program for a wide range of drawing applications.

  • Create 3D models of buildings, furniture, interiors, landscapes, and more.
  • Customize the SketchUp interface to reflect the way you work.
  • Share 3D models as walkthrough animations, scenes, or printouts, with realistic light and shadows. You can even print a model on a 3D printer.
  • Import files from other 3D modeling programs or tools, or export your SketchUp file for use with other popular modeling and image-editing software.

Trial/Freeware (limited functionality)

This package loads the Sketchup Pro installer which functions as follows:

  • <=30 days: All SketchUp Pro features on a trial basis
  • >30 days: On first run, user (admin) must make a choice:
    • SketchUp Pro features expire and software becomes SketchUp Make -- a limited, non-commercial freeware version.
    • Buy a Pro license.
Freeware Licensing Note

SketchUp Make software is licensed only for non-commercial use for your internal business purposes. Non-commercial use means that you may not sell, rent, lease or lend the output of the Software. Any other use requires the purchase of a SketchUp Pro license.

Package Parameters

The following package parameters can be set to pre-populate an authorization code. (Users will still have to authorize the software with a couple clicks.):

  • /ActivationFile:<path> -- (Filepath or URL) to copy a remote "Activation Info file".
  • /SN:<Your serial number> -- To create the activation file. Use with /AuthCode.
  • /AuthCode:<Your authorization code> -- To create the activation file. Use with /SN.

These parameter can be passed to the installer with the use of -params.
Examples :

  • -params '"/SN:RA-99999999-ALR /AuthCode:ab3de21fgh"'.
  • -params '"/ActivationFile:http://localsite.org/activation_info.txt"'.
(note: File paths with spaces require double-double quotes around the path)

In cases where actual malware is found, the packages are subject to removal. Software sometimes has false positives. Moderators do not necessarily validate the safety of the underlying software, only that a package retrieves software from the official distribution point and/or validate embedded software against official distribution point (where distribution rights allow redistribution).

Chocolatey Pro provides runtime protection from possible malware.
