2. Setup Your Environment

1. Ensure you are set for organizational deployment

Please see the organizational deployment guide

2. Get the package into your environment

  • Open Source or Commercial:
    • Proxy Repository - Create a proxy nuget repository on Nexus, Artifactory Pro, or a proxy Chocolatey repository on ProGet. Point your upstream to https://community.chocolatey.org/api/v2/. Packages cache on first access automatically. Make sure your choco clients are using your proxy repository as a source and NOT the default community repository. See source command for more information.
    • You can also just download the package and push it to a repository Download

choco upgrade dbforge-ora-cb -y --source="'INTERNAL REPO URL'" [other options]

If you do use a PowerShell script, use the following to ensure bad exit codes are shown as failures:

choco upgrade dbforge-ora-cb -y --source="'INTERNAL REPO URL'"
$exitCode = $LASTEXITCODE

Write-Verbose "Exit code was $exitCode"
$validExitCodes = @(0, 1605, 1614, 1641, 3010)
if ($validExitCodes -contains $exitCode) {
  Exit 0
}

Exit $exitCode

Description

A complete IDE for handling all tasks related to SQL Server databases

dbForge Studio for SQL Server is a multi-featured IDE designed to perform all tasks of creating, maintaining, and managing SQL Server databases. All the necessary tools and a user-friendly GUI make this solution one of the best alternatives to SSMS – it is more functional and convenient for any database developer, DBA, or Admin.

Key benefits of dbForge Studio for SQL Server:

  • Write even the most sophisticated TSQL queries in a visual mode or manually, using the code auto-completion, syntax check, and auto-formatting options. Create any database objects and produce dedicated scripts automatically.
  • Copy databases, compare and sync the data in databases and database schemas (separately, using specialized tools). Review all discrepancies between the schemas and all differences in data, and sync the databases manually or automatically.
  • Import and export the data, configure the processes of backing up and restoring the data, and generate test data to populate tables and perform the necessary test routines.
  • Create and configure user accounts and their permissions. Monitor the users’ activities and the entire SQL Server performance in real-time with comprehensive reporting. Identify and fix problems.
  • Make use of detailed reports in different file formats and Pivot Tables.
  • Set up the Continuous Integration processes and automate them to release databases fast and safely. Minimize the risks of errors in builds and deployment.

The dbForge database management studio of SQL Server lets the users perform all tasks and run them automatically. The company offers a fully-functional free trial for the users to evaluate its functionality appropriately.

In cases where actual malware is found, the packages are subject to removal. Software sometimes has false positives. Moderators do not necessarily validate the safety of the underlying software, only that a package retrieves software from the official distribution point and/or validate embedded software against official distribution point (where distribution rights allow redistribution).

Chocolatey Pro provides runtime protection from possible malware.
