deerportal has passed automated validation. It may have or may still fail other checks like testing (verification).
NOTE: No required changes that the validator checks have been flagged! It is appreciated if you fix other items, but only Requirements will hold up a package version from approval. A human review could still turn up issues a computer may not easily find.

Guidelines

Guidelines are strong suggestions that improve the quality of a package version. These are considered something to fix for next time to increase the quality of the package. Over time Guidelines can become Requirements. A package version can be approved without addressing Guideline comments but will reduce the quality of the package.

deerportal has failed automated testing.
This is not the only check that is performed so check the package page to ensure a 'Ready' status.
Please visit https://gist.github.com/2a8e27bdf158d17443a3c3a68abbe9ac for details.
The package status will be changed and will be waiting on your next actions.

  • NEW! We have a test environment for you to replicate the testing we do. This can be used at any time to test packages! See https://github.com/chocolatey/chocolatey-test-environment
  • Please log in and leave a review comment if you have questions and/or comments.
  • If you see the verifier needs to rerun testing against the package without resubmitting (a issue in the test results), you can do that on the package page in the review section.
  • If the verifier is incompatible with the package, please log in and leave a review comment if the package needs to bypass testing (e.g. package installs specific drivers).
  • Automated testing can also fail when a package is not completely silent or has pop ups (AutoHotKey can assist - a great example is the VeraCrypt package).
  • A package that cannot be made completely unattended should have the notSilent tag. Note that this must be approved by moderators.

Please resolve these to allow this package to be approved:

  • Remove tools\chocolateybeforemodify.ps1 as it isn't being used
  • If you are the software author, please confirm that via a comment here. Alternatively, if you are not the software author, put your own name in the owners field.
  • Run the PowerShell code to remove comments from scripts

Also, if possible:

  • Add packageSourceUrl to point to where the package source resides

thanks,
David

Hi, a couple of issues / suggestions / questions:

  1. The <owners> field is for the Package owners and should be your name / Chocolatey username. Can you amend this?
  2. The <projectUrl> results in a 404 page. Can you fix this?
  3. Please add a <bugTrackerUrl>;
  4. Please amend the <copyright> field - it should look something like Copyright (c) 2019 Rafal Zawadzki & Katia Zawadzka which would match the license;
  5. In your chocolateyInstall.ps1 you are downloading the ZIP file and then using Install-ChocolateyZipPackage - is there a reason you are not just using Install-ChocolateyZipPackage to download and install the file in one?
  6. If you are not using the $handbook variable in the chocolateyInstall.ps1 can you remove it?
  7. Can you remove the blank lines at the top of your chocolateyUninstall.ps1?
  8. Can you remove the LICENSE.txt and VERIFICATION.txt as they are only needed if you are embedding the software inside the package;

Thanks.

Congratulations! This package passed automatic validation review without flagging on any issues the validator currently checks. A human review could still turn up issues a computer may not easily find.

Hi,

The reason I asked about point 5 is that if you are using the Chocolatey helpers for a local file then you should use Get-ChocolateyUnzip (see the second line on https://chocolatey.org/docs/helpersinstallchocolateyzippackage) and not Install-ChocolateyUnzip.

You can do it either way but you'd be better doing it in one step than 2.

With regards to it not being a blocker, as this is a new package we want to make sure it's correct before going forward.

Thanks.

devcarpet (maintainer) on 19 Nov 2019 20:46:23 +00:00:

Hello,

thank you for the another feedback. I am running a bit out of time, so I guess for now I will relax with my package, since it becomes more time consuming then game development itself :-)

Cheers.

Pauby (reviewer) on 20 Nov 2019 10:47:54 +00:00:

No problem. You can always pick it up when you have more time.

devcarpet (maintainer) on 23 Nov 2019 10:19:08 +00:00:

I will wait for docs update and more clear specification how to validate and moderation will be more structured.

Please feel free to ping with update (I don't want to follow recommendation in comments but rather original specification). Thanks, RafaƂ.

Pauby (reviewer) on 26 Nov 2019 11:35:51 +00:00:

Hi,

All moderation is done through the comments here rather than direct messaging. The moderation documentation is being rewritten and as it stands at the moment is not exhaustive. This is not going to be a quick process.

Let us know when you are ready to pick up the package again.

Thanks.

We've found deerportal v0.8.2 in a submitted status and waiting for your next actions. It has had no updates for 20 or more days since a reviewer has asked for corrections. Please note that if there is no response or fix of the package within 15 days of this message, this package version will automatically be closed (rejected) due to being stale.

Take action:

  • Log in to the site and respond to the review comments.
  • Resubmit fixes for this version.
  • If the package version is failing automated checks, you can self-reject the package.

If your package is failing automated testing, you can use the chocolatey test environment to manually run the verification and determine what may need to be fixed.

Note: We don't like to see packages automatically rejected. It doesn't mean that we don't value your contributions, just that we can not continue to hold packages versions in a waiting status that have possibly been abandoned. If you don't believe you will be able to fix up this version of the package within 15 days, we strongly urge you to log in to the site and respond to the review comments until you are able to.

chocolatey-ops (reviewer) on 31 Dec 2019 11:42:18 +00:00:

Unfortunately there has not been progress to move deerportal v0.8.2 towards an approved status within 15 days after the last review message, so we need to close (reject) the package version at this time. If you want to pick this version up and move it towards approval in the future, use the contact site admins link on the package page and we can move it back into a submitted status so you can submit updates.

Status Change - Changed status of package from 'submitted' to 'rejected'.
