drivermax has failed automated validation.

Requirements

Requirements represent the minimum quality of a package that is acceptable. When a package version has failed requirements, the package version requires fixing and/or response by the maintainer. Provided a Requirement has flagged correctly, it must be fixed before the package version can be approved. The exact same version should be uploaded during moderation review.

  • The IconUrl element in the nuspec file should be a valid Url. Please correct this More...
Guidelines

Guidelines are strong suggestions that improve the quality of a package version. These are considered something to fix for next time to increase the quality of the package. Over time Guidelines can become Requirements. A package version can be approved without addressing Guideline comments but will reduce the quality of the package.

  • Release Notes (releaseNotes) are a short description of changes in each version of a package. Please include releasenotes in the nuspec. NOTE: To prevent the need to continually update this field, providing a URL to an external list of Release Notes is perfectly acceptable. More...
Suggestions

Suggestions are either newly introduced items that will later become Guidelines or items that are don't carry enough weight to become a Guideline. Either way they should be considered. A package version can be approved without addressing Suggestion comments.

  • The nuspec has been enhanced to allow more information related to the software. More... Please consider adding one or more of the following to the nuspec, if available:
    • docsUrl - points to the location of the wiki or docs of the software
    • mailingListUrl - points to the forum or email list group for the software
    • bugTrackerUrl - points to the location where issues and tickets can be accessed
    • projectSourceUrl - points to the location of the underlying software source

drivermax has passed automated validation. It may have or may still fail other checks like testing (verification).
NOTE: No required changes that the validator checks have been flagged! It is appreciated if you fix other items, but only Requirements will hold up a package version from approval. A human review could still turn up issues a computer may not easily find.

drivermax has been flagged as part of automated virus scanning.
Package virus scanning found that at least 1 file within, or downloaded by, the package has between 1 and 5 VirusTotal detections associated with it.
This is not enough detections to prevent the approval of this package version.

gep13 (reviewer) on 06 Nov 2023 11:22:41 +00:00:

Why are you switching away from using a CDN for the icon?

As per the packaging guidelines, using raw.githubusercontent.com is not recommeneded:

https://docs.chocolatey.org/en-us/create/create-packages#package-icon-guidelines

bcurran3 (maintainer) on 14 Nov 2023 01:48:23 +00:00:

Staticaly CDN goes poof after 1 year with no way to refresh.
NUMEROUS packages of mine are now plagued with unavailable images.
Haven't had time to verify the other CDNs don't have the same issue.
raw.githubusercontent.com IS GitHub's CDN.
Guidelines are recommended suggestions, not requirements.

TheCakeIsNaOH (reviewer) on 10 Dec 2023 19:04:06 +00:00:

You were using Staticaly.com, which has been shut down, while it was Statically.io that is recommended (or jsDelivr.net, or GitHack).

Not using Github Raw is a requirement, as Github has indicated that raw links should not be used as a CDN for website content.

One option to stick with Github directly may be to use Github pages, as those are intended to be used for website content.

Correct.

Incorrect.

An option, but unnecessary one - refer to paragraph #2.

TheCakeIsNaOH (reviewer) on 14 Dec 2023 21:11:14 +00:00:

Having an icon is a guideline, packages are not required to have icons.
However, if an icon url is in the package, it cannot be GitHub raw. That is a requirement (although there is not yet a validator rule for it).

bcurran3 (maintainer) on 21 Dec 2023 18:17:58 +00:00:

AGAIN.

Correct.

Incorrect.

Since you have not pointed to any reference, I shall.

https://docs.chocolatey.org/en-us/community-repository/moderation/

Subsection Guidelines, bulletpoint 4, states:

"We really want to see the IconUrl being used, and some moderators want to see it being used properly, using the jsDelivr, Statically, or Githack CDN. However it is a guideline, and something to note for a maintainer to fix up next time, not currently. Some software doesn't have a proper icon."

GUIDELINE Josiah, GUIDELINE.

Please don't be a Paul Broadwith and change the rules on the fly!

TheCakeIsNaOH (reviewer) on 21 Dec 2023 22:28:12 +00:00:

The moderation docs are not completely up to date and are not always clear unfortunately. There is an issue to get them updated as noted here: https://github.com/chocolatey/docs/issues/119

The iconUrl not allowing Github raw was a moderation update that had not made it's way to that page yet. It has been updated to reflect that Github raw is not allowed:
https://docs.chocolatey.org/en-us/community-repository/moderation/

Regards, TheCakeIsNaOH

Well I don't see it anywhere in the issue you linked, excpet for the PR you did and it pulled into the docs three hours ago. LOL! So be it.

We've found drivermax v15.17.0.25 in a submitted status and waiting for your next actions. It has had no updates for 20 or more days since a reviewer has asked for corrections. Please note that if there is no response or fix of the package within 15 days of this message, this package version will automatically be closed (rejected) due to being stale.

Take action:

  • Log in to the site and respond to the review comments.
  • Resubmit fixes for this version.
  • If the package version is failing automated checks, you can self-reject the package.

If your package is failing automated testing, you can use the chocolatey test environment to manually run the verification and determine what may need to be fixed.

Note: We don't like to see packages automatically rejected. It doesn't mean that we don't value your contributions, just that we can not continue to hold packages versions in a waiting status that have possibly been abandoned. If you don't believe you will be able to fix up this version of the package within 15 days, we strongly urge you to log in to the site and respond to the review comments until you are able to.

chocolatey-ops (reviewer) on 26 Jan 2024 01:17:14 +00:00:

Unfortunately there has not been progress to move drivermax v15.17.0.25 towards an approved status within 15 days after the last review message, so we need to close (reject) the package version at this time. If you want to pick this version up and move it towards approval in the future, use the contact site admins link on the package page and we can move it back into a submitted status so you can submit updates.

Status Change - Changed status of package from 'submitted' to 'rejected'.
