Deployment Method:

NOTE

This applies to both open source and commercial editions of Chocolatey.

1. Enter Your Internal Repository Url

(this should look similar to https://community.chocolatey.org/api/v2/)

2. Setup Your Environment

1. Ensure you are set for organizational deployment

Please see the organizational deployment guide

2. Get the package into your environment

  • Open Source or Commercial:
    • Proxy Repository - Create a proxy nuget repository on Nexus, Artifactory Pro, or a proxy Chocolatey repository on ProGet. Point your upstream to https://community.chocolatey.org/api/v2/. Packages cache on first access automatically. Make sure your choco clients are using your proxy repository as a source and NOT the default community repository. See source command for more information.
    • You can also just download the package and push it to a repository Download

3. Copy Your Script

choco upgrade fragstats -y --source="'INTERNAL REPO URL'" [other options]

See options you can pass to upgrade.

See best practices for scripting.

Add this to a PowerShell script or use a Batch script with tools and in places where you are calling directly to Chocolatey. If you are integrating, keep in mind enhanced exit codes.

If you do use a PowerShell script, use the following to ensure bad exit codes are shown as failures:

choco upgrade fragstats -y --source="'INTERNAL REPO URL'"
$exitCode = $LASTEXITCODE

Write-Verbose "Exit code was $exitCode"
$validExitCodes = @(0, 1605, 1614, 1641, 3010)
if ($validExitCodes -contains $exitCode) {
  Exit 0
}

Exit $exitCode

Description

FRAGSTATS is a public domain computer software program designed to compute a wide variety of landscape metrics for categorical map patterns. The original software (version 2) was released in the public domain during 1995. The program was completely revamped in 2002 (version 3). Recently, the program was upgraded to accommodate ArcGIS10 (version 3.4). The latest release (version 4) reflects a major revamping of the software, with a completely redesigned architecture intended to support the addition of cell-level metrics and surface pattern metrics. The current release of version 4 (v4.2) has essentially the same functionality as version 3, but with a new user interface that reflects the redesign of the model architecture, support for additional image formats, and a variety of sampling methods for analyzing sub-landscapes.

Raster Image Formats:

  • ASCII grid
  • 8-, 16- and 32-bit integer grids
  • ESRI grid (or raster)
  • GeoTIFF grid
  • VTP binary terrain format grid
  • ESRI header labelled grid
  • ERDAS Imagine grid
  • PCRaster grid
  • SAGA GIS binary format grid

Features

  • Graphical user interface
  • Command line execution
  • Patch-based metrics
  • Cell-based metrics
  • Surface metrics
  • Structural and functional metrics
  • Batch processing
  • Multiple sampling strategies
  • Handles nodata, background and border cells

Package Parameters

If you have a valid ESRI ArcGIS license with Spatial Analyst or ArcView 3.3 Spatial Analyst and intend to work with ArcGrids (or Rasters), you can use a /DLL package parameter to add the necessary folder path of the aigridio.dll library file. This path is not verified.

For example :
choco install fragstats -params '"/DLL:""C:\Program Files (x86)\ArcGIS\Desktop10.2\Bin"""'.
(note: the double-double quotes around the path are only needed if it contains spaces)

In cases where actual malware is found, the packages are subject to removal. Software sometimes has false positives. Moderators do not necessarily validate the safety of the underlying software, only that a package retrieves software from the official distribution point and/or validate embedded software against official distribution point (where distribution rights allow redistribution).

Chocolatey Pro provides runtime protection from possible malware.
