glossi has passed automated validation. It may have or may still fail other checks like testing (verification).
NOTE: No required changes that the validator checks have been flagged! It is appreciated if you fix other items, but only Requirements will hold up a package version from approval. A human review could still turn up issues a computer may not easily find.

Suggestions

Suggestions are either newly introduced items that will later become Guidelines or items that are don't carry enough weight to become a Guideline. Either way they should be considered. A package version can be approved without addressing Suggestion comments.

glossi has passed automated package testing (verification). The next step in the process is package scanning.
Please visit https://gist.github.com/4e6bc546d9fc5e5f7c409c2360c58639 for details.
This is an FYI only. There is no action you need to take.

glossi has been flagged as part of automated virus scanning.
Package virus scanning found that at least 1 file within, or downloaded by, the package has between 6 and 10 VirusTotal detections associated with it
This package version cannot be approved without an exemption from a Moderator.

TheCakeIsNaOH (reviewer) on 10 Aug 2022 19:53:28 +00:00:

Hi, the count of Virustotal positives is high for this package version.

If there a known reason that this software may have a high rate of false positives, please link to the upstream documentation (for example it could be an issue or wiki) in the package description.
Then ask for an exemption and a moderator will review the documentation.
If there is not a known and documented reason, please contact the software authors to see if they have any reasons they can document.

Regards, TheCakeisNaOH

Hi @TheCakeIsNaOH,

This package come from the following package request.
In this GitHub issue, there is an ongoing discussion with the software author about the VirusTotal results.

TheCakeIsNaOH (reviewer) on 17 Aug 2022 21:40:26 +00:00:

Ok, yup I see that comment.

Hmm, if it is false positives for no reason, the file should be reported to the antivirus vendors as a false positive, or more investigation into it for the exact reason the false positives happen.

Regards, TheCakeIsNaOH

Xav83 (maintainer) on 06 Sep 2022 21:34:20 +00:00:

Hi @TheCakeIsNaOH,

On the package request related to GlosSi, @Alia5, the author of GlosSi, has corrected the issues related to the Virus Scanner, and created a new release with this correction.

I would like to create a package with this new version, but, since there are no approuved package version, and the version 0.7.0 still being on hold, I can't push the new version of the package without getting the folowing error:

   [39/51] glossi ERROR:
Chocolatey v0.10.15 Attempting to push glossi.0.0.8.0.nupkg to https://push.chocolatey.org Failed to process request. 'Forbidden'. The remote server returned an error: (403) Forbidden.. (20.94s)

A solution cound be to reject the version 0.7.0 of the package, but this option is not available to me anymore. Maybe you will be able to do it @TheCakeIsNaOH ¯_(ツ)_/¯

gep13 (reviewer) on 07 Sep 2022 19:27:43 +00:00:

Rejecting as per maintainer request.
Status Change - Changed status of package from 'submitted' to 'rejected'.

Xav83 (maintainer) on 07 Sep 2022 20:19:28 +00:00:

Thank you @gep13 :-)

The version 0.0.8.0 is now uploaded, and, hopefully, the validation process and the virus scanning will pass without any issue!

In cases where actual malware is found, the packages are subject to removal. Software sometimes has false positives. Moderators do not necessarily validate the safety of the underlying software, only that a package retrieves software from the official distribution point and/or validate embedded software against official distribution point (where distribution rights allow redistribution).

Chocolatey Pro provides runtime protection from possible malware.
