This package is likely a meta/virtual (*) or an installer (*.install) or portable (*.portable) application package.
- Meta/virtual (*) - has a dependency on the *.install or the *.portable package - it is provided for discoverability and for other packages to take a dependency on.
- Portable (*.portable/*.commandline (deprecated naming convention)/*.tool (deprecated naming convention)) - usually zips or archives that require no administrative access to install.
- Install (*.install/*.app (deprecated naming convention)) - uses native installers, usually requires administrative access to install.

NeoChat is a Matrix client. It allows you to send text messages, videos and audio files to your family, colleagues and friends using the Matrix protocol.
Matrix is a decentralized communication protocol, putting the user back in control. Currently NeoChat implements large part of the protocol with the exception of encrypted chats and video chat.
NeoChat works both on mobile and desktop while providing a consistent user experience.
Features
- Sending messages
- Sending files from clipboard and filesystem
- Reply to message (right-click on a message to access menu)
- Start a private chat (but not encrypted)
- Show notifications, for the moment there is only a global switch
to disable it. We plan to implement the configuration part of the
specification soon. - Autocompletion of usernames in chat
- Emoji picker
- Basic room setting page
- Send and accept invitations
- /rainbow <message> (very important)
- /me <message>
NeoChat is still missing a few features to become a full-featured
Matrix client (most notably encryption support and video chat support).
We welcome contributions in this direction.

In cases where actual malware is found, the packages are subject to removal. Software sometimes has false positives. Moderators do not necessarily validate the safety of the underlying software, only that a package retrieves software from the official distribution point and/or validate embedded software against official distribution point (where distribution rights allow redistribution).
Chocolatey Pro provides runtime protection from possible malware.
