open-shell has passed automated validation. It may have or may still fail other checks like testing (verification).
NOTE: No required changes that the validator checks have been flagged! It is appreciated if you fix other items, but only Requirements will hold up a package version from approval. A human review could still turn up issues a computer may not easily find.

Notes

Notes typically flag things for both you and the reviewer to go over. Sometimes this is the use of things that may or may not be necessary given the constraints of what you are trying to do and/or are harder for automation to flag for other reasons. Items found in Notes might be Requirements depending on the context. A package version can be approved without addressing Note comments.

  • Binary files (.exe, .msi, .zip) have been included. The reviewer will ensure the maintainers have distribution rights. More...

open-shell has passed automated package testing (verification). The next step in the process is package scanning.
Please visit https://gist.github.com/1e573ac84f214217d54894764c6ee3fb for details.
This is an FYI only. There is no action you need to take.

chocolatey-ops (reviewer) on 09 Sep 2022 23:42:32 +00:00:

open-shell has been flagged as part of automated virus scanning.
Package virus scanning found that at least 1 file within, or downloaded by, the package has between 6 and 10 VirusTotal detections associated with it.
This package version cannot be approved without an exemption from a Moderator.

TheCakeIsNaOH (maintainer) on 13 Sep 2022 15:56:06 +00:00:

Please reject due to high virus scanner positive count.
The upstream developers do not care to investigate and do not have any valid reasons for a large count of false positives.

Thanks.

Description

Open-Shell Open-Shell

Originally Classic Shell by Ivo Beltchev

Features

  • Classic style Start Menu for Windows 7, 8, 8.1, 10
  • Toolbar for Windows Explorer
  • Classic copy UI (Windows 7 only)
  • Show file size in Explorer status bar
  • Title bar and status bar for Internet Explorer

Package specific

By default, the package installs all three components, i.e. Open-Shell Menu, Classic Explorer, and Classic IE.
If you do want all three components, you can select which components you want via package parameters, which are documented below.

Package Parameters

The following package parameters can be set:

  • /StartMenu - Add the Open-Shell Menu component
  • /ClassicExplorer - Add the Classic Explorer component
  • /ClassicIE - Add the Classic IE component

To pass parameters, use --params "''" (e.g. choco install packageID [other options] --params="'/ITEM:value /ITEM2:value2 /FLAG_BOOLEAN'").
To have choco remember parameters on upgrade, be sure to set choco feature enable -n=useRememberedArgumentsForUpgrades.

Please Note: This is an automatically updated package. If you find it is
out of date by more than a day or two, please contact the maintainer(s) and
let them know the package is no longer updating correctly.

In cases where actual malware is found, the packages are subject to removal. Software sometimes has false positives. Moderators do not necessarily validate the safety of the underlying software, only that a package retrieves software from the official distribution point and/or validate embedded software against official distribution point (where distribution rights allow redistribution).

Chocolatey Pro provides runtime protection from possible malware.
