rustdesk.install has passed automated validation. It may have or may still fail other checks like testing (verification).
NOTE: No required changes that the validator checks have been flagged! It is appreciated if you fix other items, but only Requirements will hold up a package version from approval. A human review could still turn up issues a computer may not easily find.

Guidelines

Guidelines are strong suggestions that improve the quality of a package version. These are considered something to fix for next time to increase the quality of the package. Over time Guidelines can become Requirements. A package version can be approved without addressing Guideline comments but will reduce the quality of the package.

Package virus scanning found that at least 1 file within, or downloaded by, the package has between 6 and 10 VirusTotal detections associated with it.

Hi, the count of Virustotal positives is high for this package version.

If there a known reason that this software may have a high rate of false positives, please link to the upstream documentation (for example it could be an issue or wiki) in the package description.
Then ask for an exemption and a moderator will review the documentation.
If there is not a known and documented reason, please contact the software authors to see if they have any reasons they can document.

We've found rustdesk.install v1.2.3 in a submitted status and waiting for your next actions. It has had no updates for 20 or more days since a reviewer has asked for corrections. • Resubmit fixes for this version.
  • If the package version is failing automated checks, you can self-reject the package.

If your package is failing automated testing, you can use the chocolatey test environment to manually run the verification and determine what may need to be fixed.

Getting high VirusTotal hits. Can you please investigate why this would be and either fix the package, or document why they would be false positives

thanks,
David

bdukes (maintainer) on 27 Nov 2023 16:02:37 +00:00:

It's getting flagged as a Remote Admin tool, which it is (it's an open source alternative to TeamViewer)
RustDesk 1.2.3 VirusTotal Results

There's a discussion on GitHub about the progress in getting various vendors to stop flagging it.

flcdrg (reviewer) on 27 Nov 2023 21:18:14 +00:00:

No worries. Can you please add a section to the package description mentioning this (so users understand the high VT count).

thanks,
David

In cases where actual malware is found, the packages are subject to removal. Software sometimes has false positives. Moderators do not necessarily validate the safety of the underlying software, only that a package retrieves software from the official distribution point and/or validate embedded software against official distribution point (where distribution rights allow redistribution).
