SeaTools can test Seagate drives fully, as well as Samsung and Maxtor drives (both brands now owned by Seagate.) It will also test any other brand without issue, albeit without some of the more advanced tests.
SeaTools for Windows is functionally equivalent to the old DOS-style bootable SeaTools.
SeaTools for Windows is completely data safe. If the drive passes SeaTools for Windows, your troubleshooting can move to other areas.
